Racial Equality: Common Standards for Council Contracts West Midlands Forum Ensuring that the suppliers we purchase goods and services from are acting in a fair and equitable way and are working to promote diversity can be challenging. Recognising that there was no consistent approach to assessing the performance of suppliers in this area, a group of local authorities in the West Midlands developed these common standards for the award of council contracts.
Supplier Guide – Equal Opportunities Fit to Supply Fit to Supply is a project that brings together major purchasers of goods and services with the small businesses and enterprises in their local communities for mutual benefit. They have produced a range of factsheets for small suppliers including this one on Equal Opportunities. The factsheet covers the key points that all suppliers should address and gives guidance on developing an Equal Opportunities Policy. Although intended for small suppliers, the factsheet would provide an excellent starting point for any organisation looking to develop their own guidance for their consultants, contractors and suppliers.
