I was very interested to read James Caspell’s thoughts in this month’s ebriefing issue. I was interested in some of the links around social isolation and deprivation and vulnerable people. There are some links here to the work being done across the country around unconscious bias.
I was particularly interested in the links to the business case for diversity and value for money. I believe this is fundamental to embedding best practice across the country. There were also some interesting links around translation and interpretation, skills of staff and diverse inclusive workforce.
I am delighted to see the development once again of the HDN staff mentoring programme and also the various other mentoring programmes, including the exciting Board mentoring programme.
I was also interested in the luxury developments in London and the focus in the Guardian on the “Poor Door”. I have the articles available is anyone requires these.
It is obviously an interesting time for the independence vote in Scotland and the next time I share my blog with you we will have the outcome.
There are obviously some challenging issues in our communities and I note the reference to racist incidents in Belfast and obviously there are still some big challenges around in the wider world.
There still appears to be a massive challenge around benefit and deprivation.
