HDN EVENTS 2017

HDN provide a range of insightful and practical events during the year across England. We combine input from specialists with the sharing of good practice from partners and opportunities for networking with colleagues from other organisations. Our events are intended to support you in addressing the key issues you face around equality, diversity and inclusion.

Many of our events are free or very discounted for members more information about membership here and great value for non members. We can also provide in-house training programmes, more information on this can be found here.

Inclusive Approach to Change

9.30 – 14.30

Picture5Mergers, restructures, demergers – they are all part of the sector and it looks like they will be for the near future at least. With much talk around change management, how do you ensure it is done in an inclusive way? HDN Associate, Adele Baumgardt will present on what organisations need to consider when undertaking significant change, including legal and duties under the Public Sector Equality Duty. It will also outline good practice in ensuring change is managed in an inclusive way.

There will also be an opportunity to network, share your current work and discuss with other colleagues some of the challenges you are facing. Lunch and refreshments will also be provided.

Places are free to HDN members and only £45+VAT for non-members.

Using Mentoring & Coaching

Picture6This event will cover how mentoring can benefits your organisation and what you need to consider when developing internal programmes or accessing external programmes. Kam Urwin, Mentoring Manager at HDN will give an overview of what you need to think about and we will hear from an organisation that has used mentoring.

There will also be an opportunity to network, share your current work and discuss with other colleagues some of the challenges you are facing. HDN will also provide an update on current work and developments around equality, diversity and inclusion. Lunch and refreshments will also be provided.

Train the EDI Trainer

10.30 – 16.00

Picture8With more Equality and Diversity (E&D) training being delivered internally, this Train the EDI Trainersession will help you develop and deliver engaging effective E&D sessions offering real value for money.Offering much more than just another training day, this session provides practical training tips with an E&D focus. Participants will get the chance to shape the session through pre-session communication with the facilitator and using their own examples and experiences on the day. The session also offers a great networking opportunity!

HDN members are entitled to one place at one session during the year at £20 as part of their membership, thereafter member rate of £195 (excl.VAT) applies, and only £295 (excl. VAT) for non-members.Places are limited so please book early to secure your place to allow for pre-session communication. Lunch and refreshments will also be provided.
