I have completed my training and events survey it was useful to do some thinking but it took a bit more than 5 minutes. Can I encourage you all to contribute it would be great to get your views.
We’re really keen to develop some innovative and useful event this year and I look forward to elaborating on these in further contributions.
I encourage you all to look at the Diversity Calendar and celebrate some events we have just done a poetry competition for staff relate to Burns night.
I am glad to see the focus on the Stonewall Top 100 Employers they really do a great job and look out for their conference in April this was a fantastic experience last year.
Housing Diversity Network really is a resource and I encourage you to get the most out of your membership.
The work specifically on Board mentoring is really positive and a strong link to governance.
Raising the profile of equality and diversity and continuing to link this to continual improvement and the business case are really important issues which HDN will be focusing on in the coming months.
Working in partnership with other agencies such as the CIH and the HCA will also be important parts of our work as will developing our awards and accreditations through DNA.
Look out for the results of the CIH Presidential Leadership Commission on equality and diversity, I am sure I will speak more about this in the near future and HDN will be running some events to launch this.
Finally a welcome particularly to our new members from Bedford Housing Association and Poplar Harker Steve Stride has certainly been instrumental in the CIH Commission around leadership on diversity.
