Job Description
Join Us as our Control Room & Business Resilience Manager!

We’re looking for a dynamic and strategic leader to take charge of our business resilience and control room operations. As the Control Room & Business Resilience Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring our organisation can respond effectively to unexpected events, maintain critical services, and recover swiftly to a steady state.

You will lead the development and implementation of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, manage our 24/7 CCTV Control Room, and coordinate Out of Hours (OOH) services. You’ll also work closely with Stockport Council and the Greater Manchester Resilience Unit to ensure our plans are aligned with regional strategies and civil contingency frameworks.

What You’ll Be Doing

•  Designing and embedding a robust resilience framework across the organisation.
•  Leading and empowering teams to deliver high-quality services in challenging environments.
•  Conducting simulations and exercises to test and improve our resilience plans.
•  Coordinating multi-disciplinary responses to incidents and ensuring effective recovery.
•  Providing training and raising awareness of resilience procedures across SHG.
•  Representing SHG at strategic planning forums and resilience events.

What We’re Looking For
If you have strong leadership skills, experience in business continuity and disaster recovery, and a passion for building resilient services, we want to hear from you.

You’ll need excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, confidence to challenge existing practices, and the resilience to thrive in high-pressure situations. Experience in risk management and a collaborative approach to working with stakeholders are also key.

The successful applicant's appointment will be subject to satisfactory basic clearance by the Disclosure and Barring Service and satisfactory enhanced employment references going back 5 years. Additionally, the applicant must have the ability to successfully apply for and obtain an SIA CCTV Licence, which will be provided as part of the employment and funded by SHG. The applicant will also be required to complete GMP Vetting for the use of Police Airwaves Radios, which requires the applicant to have been a UK resident for 3 years or more.

The SHG “Be You” approach sums up our belief that everyone has the right to be who they are, and to be that person at work, in line with SHG’s Values. We’re always looking to improve diversity within our teams to enhance this culture and to be truly representative of the communities we work in.

This role will be on Stockport Homes Limited terms and conditions.

We understand that if you don't meet every requirement, you may be hesitant to apply but we still want to hear from you and encourage you to submit an application detailing your experiences, achievements, and the value you can bring to our team.

If you require any reasonable adjustments to complete your application, please contact the People & OD Team on humanresources@stockporthomes.org.
