Job Title
The Prevention Alliance (TPA) Key Worker
Organisation
Stockport Homes Group
Job Description
Fixed term contract until 31 March 2027 with the possibility of extension

Do you believe everyone deserves the right support at the right time?

Are you passionate about helping people build confidence, independence, and a better future?

The Prevention Alliance is a partnership of five local not‑for‑profit organisations – Age UK Stockport, Jigsaw Support, Nacro, Stockport Homes and Talk Listen Change – working together to deliver the Stockport Support Hub and Your Support on behalf of Stockport Council.

We are looking for a dedicated Keyworker to join our Skylight Team and play a vital role in supporting residents across Stockport.

Our mission is simple but powerful: help people find their own solutions and live well for the long term.

About the Role

As a Keyworker, you’ll be a single, trusted point of contact for people who may be facing challenges with housing, finances, wellbeing, or access to support. Using a person‑led, strengths‑based approach, you’ll:

  • Provide tailored information, advice and one‑to‑one support
  • Help people identify their strengths and build confidence
  • Work creatively to achieve sustainable, long‑term outcomes
  • Build trusted relationships and informal support networks
  • Act as a lead professional, coordinating support across services
  • Identify risks and respond to safeguarding concerns
  • Empower people to become more resilient and independent

No two days are the same — but every day, your work will matter.

    About You

You’ll bring experience of working with vulnerable people and a genuine commitment to person‑centred support. You’ll be confident, resilient, and motivated by helping others succeed.

    You’ll also have:

  • Experience using a strength‑based, person‑led approach
  • The ability to engage people, even in challenging situations
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy caseload
  • Confidence working independently in homes and community settings
  • Good IT, communication, and record‑keeping skills
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to work in partnership

If you’re passionate about empowering people and want a role where your work truly changes lives, we’d love to hear from you.

Apply today and help shape a healthier, more supported Stockport.

The SHG “Be You” approach sums up our belief that everyone has the right to be who they are, and to be that person at work, in line with SHG’s Values. We’re always looking to improve diversity within our teams to enhance this culture and to be truly representative of the communities we work in.

The successful applicant's appointment will be subject to satisfactory enhanced clearance by the Disclosure and Barring Service.

We understand that if you don't meet every requirement, you may be hesitant to apply but we still want to hear from you and encourage you to submit an application detailing your experiences, achievements, and the value you can bring to our team.
