About the role
First Choice Homes Oldham (FCHO) is looking for an Analytics Engineer to join our Business Intelligence team at an exciting time of transformation.
This role sits at the intersection of data engineering and analytics, playing a key part in how data is structured, modelled and made available for reporting, insight and decision-making across the organisation.
You’ll work across our current data environment and emerging Microsoft Fabric platform, helping to develop robust data pipelines, analytical datasets and semantic models that underpin trusted KPI reporting and business insight.

What you’ll be doing
Designing, building and optimising data pipelines and analytical datasets to support reporting and insight
Developing and evolving semantic models (Power BI datasets) to enable consistent, trusted KPI reporting
Working across a hybrid data environment, supporting the transition to Microsoft Fabric
Structuring and transforming data to ensure quality, consistency and usability
Optimising queries, pipelines and models to ensure efficient and timely reporting
Supporting regulatory and statutory reporting (e.g. TSMs, SDR) by aligning data structures to requirements
Collaborating with BI Analysts to translate business needs into effective data solutions
Supporting Python-based analytics processes, including automation and model scoring
Integrating outputs from analytical and predictive models into reporting and operational systems
Identifying opportunities to improve automation, efficiency and data processes
Working closely with Data and ICT teams to align with governance, security and architectural standards
What we’re looking for
Strong SQL skills (T-SQL), with the ability to write and optimise queries
Experience designing data models, including dimensional and semantic layers
Experience working with data platforms (e.g. data warehouses, lakehouse architectures, ELT approaches)
Experience with Power BI datasets and data modelling for reporting
Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and transformations
Ability to translate business requirements into practical data solutions
Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
It would be great if you also have
Experience with Microsoft Fabric or similar modern data platforms
Experience using Python for data analysis or modelling (e.g. Pandas, notebooks)
Experience supporting KPI frameworks or regulatory reporting
Exposure to predictive modelling or advanced analytics
Experience in social housing or a regulated environment
