We are currently looking for a number of Senior Regulatory Engagement Managers to join us at the Regulator of Social Housing.  Join us in promoting a viable, efficient and well-governed social housing sector, ensuring the delivery and maintenance of suitable, quality housing.

Job Description:
As the Senior Regulatory Engagement Manager (SREM), you will be responsible for delivering frontline regulation, working with registered providers to gain assurance of compliance with the regulatory standards.

Leading a team of regulators to deliver effective regulation, you will ensure that our regulatory, investigatory and general powers are used in a proportionate, risk based, consistent and accountable way.  You will support the Assistant Director in ensuring that regulatory strategies, responsive engagement and interventions are appropriate and timely, and that the team’s resources are aligned with a risk-based regulatory approach.

You will lead planned and responsive engagement on the largest providers and on cases where there are serious or complex issues including where a registered provider’s regulatory grading has the potential of moving from compliant to non-compliant. As well as direct engagement, you will oversee, support and advise colleagues as they deliver a varied caseload of responsive and planned provider engagement.

Responsibilities:
As the successful candidate, you will have an understanding of the overall strategy, operations and key processes of registered providers or experience in areas of governance, risk management, service delivery or financial control.  You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience of managing relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, as well as strong analytical evaluation skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgement.

You will be able to evaluate how organisations apply principles of good governance and risk management and the risk environment in which registered providers operate.  You will also have experience of people and programme management, with the ability to develop and inspire your team.

Location
We operate a hybrid model of working with a mix of office and home working.

This role can be based out of any of RSH’s core offices in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and Bristol. Our Manchester office will be relocating during 2024/25, however will remain within the city centre. We offer a range of flexible working arrangements and staff can benefit from working from home for part of their hours. Most roles involve some travel within England between our offices, with some roles also involving onsite visits to social housing providers.

Interviews
Interviews are expected to take place w/c 3rd and 10th June and will be held via Microsoft Teams.

The salary for this role is a spot salary within the given range, which will normally be the minimum of the range. There is no incremental progression through a pay scale. Annual salary reviews are determined by the government pay award. In addition, when the probation period is successfully completed, a performance related bonus may be awarded, based on appraisal ratings at the end of the qualifying appraisal year.
