Job Description

Passionate about people and multi-cultural communities?
Join the largest BME housing provider in Manchester as its next Chief Executive.

We are more than just a housing provider, we are a cornerstone of vibrant, multicultural communities across Manchester, Stockport, and Trafford. With over 40 years of history, we've grown into the largest independent black and minority ethnic (BME) Housing Association in the region with over 1,200 homes,  36 dedicated members of staff  and a turnover of £6million.

Our new Chief Executive will appreciate that we are a people-led organisation and we’re incredibly proud of the communities we serve.   Working closely with our Board and committed staff team, you’ll play a key role in shaping Arawak Walton for the future, providing vision and strategic direction but also willing to ‘roll your sleeves up’ to drive innovation, champion diversity and inclusion, and advocate for the needs of our tenants, customers and communities.

You will be an empowering, compassionate, and collaborative strategic leader with senior leadership experience gained within housing or a similarly complex and community-focused sector, with specific understanding of the operational aspects of the business. You’ll bring to Arawak Walton high levels of personal and professional credibility and a successful track record in managing change and developing and nurturing a strong culture in organisations. An engaging spokesperson experienced in building strong, positive relationships with colleagues, customers, and communities as well as other key local stakeholders.

At Arawak Walton we believe our staff are our greatest asset and our focus is on creating an inclusive culture where they are supported to be themselves and play to their strengths and enable everyone to reach their full potential.

Equality, diversity and inclusion underpins everything that we do at Arawak Walton and we are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects the communities that we serve. The proportion of culturally diverse tenants stands at 75%, with Black British, African and Caribbean tenants being the highest percentage at 40%, Asian over 10% and tenants identifying as Multiethnic just under 10%.
