In this brand-new role of Executive Director of Property and Asset (reporting directly to our Chief Executive), you’ll lead and shape the future of our housing stock, delivering a commercially focused asset strategy that puts safety, sustainability and quality at the heart of delivery. This is your chance to drive bold decisions, supercharge performance and deliver value that matters, not just in numbers, but in real peoples’ lives.

You’ll develop and implement Home Group’s strategic vision for asset management that aligns with our long-term goals. Leading on long-term asset planning and optimising investment, you’ll ensure we are spending our money wisely as you enhance quality, sustainability, and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: You’ll nurture a high-performing Property and Asset Management team, ensuring colleagues are motivated, skilled, and aligned with our strategic objectives, ensuring it a great place to work for them.

  • Strategic Vision: Ensuring our housing stock remains safe, sustainable, and fit for the future. You’ll bring a long-term, data-driven approach and insights to shape investment decisions, maximise asset value and resilience. You’ll adapt to changing customer, organisational and regulatory needs.

  • The client for Maintenance: You’ll define asset management priorities, working closely with our Executive Director of Maintenance to deliver a high-performing, customer-focused maintenance programme.

  • Financial and Strategic Performance: Ensuring investment decisions balance financial efficiency, social impact, and long-term sustainability. You’ll embed strong governance and commercial thinking, maximising value.

  • Leading Decarbonisation and Sustainability agenda: You’ll ensure all investments contribute to reducing carbon emissions and improve energy efficiency.

  • Maintaining strong strategic relationships; Work with key stakeholders, including contractors, regulatory bodies, local authorities, and external partners to enhance service delivery and support long-term objectives.

  • Lead our Capital Investment Programmes: Ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and positively impact communities.

  • Workspaces and Commercial Property: Drive innovative workspaces that balance progressive ways of working with commercial opportunities, fostering a high-performance culture.


You bring

  • Executive-level leadership experience with a proven track record of shaping strategy, inspiring teams, and delivering measurable success in complex organisations.

  • Deep knowledge of housing regulations, compliance, and safety standards, including fire safety, energy efficiency, and decarbonisation.

  • Expert understanding of asset management principles, including long-term investment planning and sustainability.

  • Expertise in planned and cyclical maintenance, with a proven track record of implementing effective programmes that enhance asset performance and customer satisfaction.

  • Advanced financial acumen with experience managing multimillion-pound budgets

  • Membership and chartered status in a relevant professional body, such as RICS, CIOB, or CIH or equivalent.
