Job Title
Digital Developer
Organisation
Stockport Homes Group
Job Description
Permanent, Full time (37 hours per week)

Here at Stockport Homes Group (SHG), we are passionate about delivering excellent services for customers. We are innovative and entrepreneurial, recognised nationally as a great employer and look for people with a passion for what they do, who can demonstrate great judgement, innovation and successful outcomes. We recognise talent and develop individuals to be the best that they can be.

We’re looking for a Digital Developer to support SHG’s digital transformation strategy and ongoing digital operations. In doing so, you will increase value for money on existing processes, resources, and IT systems by driving efficiency; as a Digital Developer, you will assist with improving the digital customer journey; and you will contribute to wider strategic initiatives to transform the lives of our customers.

What the role is:

The Digital Developer will play a critical role in producing digital solutions from contributing on initial discovery through to go live as part of a wider program of delivery. In this role you will work closely with Digital Innovation Strategists to identify opportunities by assessing technical feasibility of new ideas across a wide variety of business functions. Key tasks involve building, testing, and supporting Digital services using Robotic Process Automation (UiPath), automating through AI engines, Microsoft PowerApps, and Microsoft PowerAutomate.

We're looking for a proactive developer to join our Digital team—someone who can help shape and deliver practical, effective solutions. You’ll be involved from day one, contributing to planning, designing, and building tools that solve real business challenges. You’ll lead on testing and deployment, keep live automations and apps running smoothly, and jump in to resolve technical issues when they arise. You’ll also help to drive continuous improvement and work closely with a wide variety of colleagues across the business. If you enjoy solving complex problems and contributing to positive change, we’d love to hear from you.

Who you are:

SHG is looking for someone with two to three years of experience in software development, ideally within the public sector, and at least one year working with Robotic Process Automation—preferably using UiPath—or developing with Microsoft Power Platform. You should be comfortable working across the full software development lifecycle, from early discovery through to live support. Skills in related areas like IT support, system administration, data engineering, AI/ML, business analysis, UI/UX design, or project management would also be valuable. Our ideal candidate will be analytical, a strong problem solver, and someone who takes initiative with a natural curiosity. Great communication skills are important, especially when working with both technical and non-technical colleagues. Being adaptable, open-minded, resilient, and detail-oriented will help you thrive in this role.

Stockport Homes is a great place to work, we pride ourselves on building strong collaborative relationships locally, regionally and nationally. We are passionate about not only providing housing and building new homes in Stockport but helping to transform the lives of our customers. We aim to provide comfortable and affordable homes and engage customers and communities.

The SHG “Be You” approach sums up our belief that everyone has the right to be who they are, and to be that person at work, in line with SHG’s Values. We’re always looking to improve diversity within our teams to enhance this culture and to be truly representative of the communities we work in.

We understand that if you don't meet every requirement, you may be hesitant to apply but we still want to hear from you and encourage you to submit an application detailing your experiences, achievements, and the value you can bring to our team.

This role will be on Three Sixty Hybrid terms and conditions.

If you require any reasonable adjustments to complete your application, please contact the People & OD Team on humanresources@stockporthomes.org.

Please note that we do not accept applications through third-party websites. To ensure your application is reviewed, please apply directly through our careers page.

We encourage you to apply early! We may close the vacancy sooner if we find the right candidate.

We look forward to hearing from you!
