Mobile Cleaner (Specialist)
Salary: £10.64 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week; Monday – Friday
Fixed term until 29th February 2024

Working within the Estate Services Team, you will be undertaking communal carpet cleaning, bin cleaning, gutter cleaning, graffiti removal, mould cleaning and pressure washing pathways within Orwell’s property stock.

Responding to emergency call outs may also be required to deal with potential biohazards and sharps removal and assisting property services with flooded properties to remove surface water.

As part of this role:
  • Clean Orwell’s communal areas with professional equipment including gutter cleaning vacuum, carpet cleaning machine, tow along bin cleaning machine and pressure washer and essential mould cleaning.
  • You will contribute to service delivery and project planning processes.
  • You will work collaboratively with colleagues throughout Orwell to ensure the delivery of the organisation’s visions, values and objectives.
  • You will provide an affordable cleaning service to our service users, cleaning their carpets, bins or pathways for agreed fees, being responsible for taking payment and issuing VAT receipts.
  • Liaise with other departments within Orwell to aid and respond to emergency situations that our equipment and training have us prepared for. For example, clearing up flood water or sharps disposal.
  • You will be responsible for keeping chemical storage facilities tidy and locked. Assisting with maintaining stock levels and organising storage areas and planning your own rota and using our planning software effectively.

    About you

    Our ideal Mobile Cleaner will have:
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar setting.
  • Experience working with a range of different machinery.
  • Previous experience of working in a customer facing environment, dealing with difficult and complex situations.

    Person Specification:
  • Ability to tow a trailer is essential.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy
  • NVQ (or equivalent) Facilities Services Operative, is desirable

    Due to the nature of this role, a full driving licence is essential.
