With over 12,000 homes throughout the borough of Rochdale, we are England’s first co-owned mutual housing society. Being a mutual not only reflects Rochdale’s co-operative heritage, it also means that we are co-owned by, and accountable to, our tenants and employees.

Following the tragic death of Awaab Ishak, and the subsequent regulatory intervention, RBH has experienced a considerable amount of change and transformation. We’re determined to put customers at the heart of everything we do and our recovery plan, which we agreed with our regulator, focuses on making improvements to how we deliver our services, with five key themes centred on: Customers; Communities; People; Homes; and Governance.

We are currently looking for two new Independent Committee Members to join us:

For our Treasury & Finance Committee, you’ll either be a fully qualified accountant (CCAB or CIMA) or have a Treasury qualification.

For our Audit & Risk Committee, it’s not essential to be a qualified accountant, although a very good level of financial literacy is important.

Ideally at least one of our new Independent Committee Members will bring housing sector insight. We would also like to hear from candidates for both the roles who, as well as having the skills above, additionally bring experience of one or more of: development or regeneration experience; asset management experience; and health & safety experience. We are also looking for two new Non-Executive Directors, details of which are in the candidate pack.
