Award Winning Programme
The CIPD award winning Staff Development & Mentoring Programme supports participants to increase their contribution and confidence at work and manage change in challenging times.
Our experience shows us how important it is to invest in and support your key asset, staff, to get the best from them and to ensure your organisation thrives during times of huge societal challenge. Helping people to adapt effectively and take advantage of opportunities also makes good business sense, an investment in the leaders of tomorrow and to build a stronger organisation.
Although the programme is delivered mainly online, with a variety of times and dates to allow for flexibility of the participants, one workshop is a full day in person event. This is delivered around the country, and is a great opportunity, not only to learn about the changing housing landscape and plan for change, but to network with housing professionals in their area.
Participants also get resources to further develop and learn during the programme.
The programme offers opportunities to:
Engage with and be mentored by an mentor external to their organisation.
Build networks/relationships with colleagues from different organisations regionally and nationally in the sector.
Maximise participants potential.
The programme is suitable for:
Staff, including those at the first line management level, who would benefit from engaging in a series of individual mentoring sessions and group workshops.
Staff from any background facing barriers to development and career progression, perhaps isolated from others because of their role and ready to take advantage of the opportunity the SMP presents.
The programme includes:
A Programme Briefing and Mentoring Skills session for Mentees and Mentors at the start of the programme.
Five meetings with a mentor.
A selection of workshops on personal development, EDI in practice and the housing sector.
One in-person regional training day, facilitated by local experts with HDN.
Access to face-to-face regional HDN networking events
A national mentoring celebration event at the end of the programme.
To apply as a mentee on the programme, please contact your employer about being nominated, as your organisation will have its own selection process.
