  • Senior Support Worker – Idaway, East Bergholt

  • £24,000 FTE

  • 37 hours per week, Permanent

Join Idaway as a Senior Support Worker in the Learning Disability sector, where our values drive every aspect of what we do.

The purpose of this post is to work alongside the Service Manager to provide guidance to staff within our local learning disability supported living services, ensuring the effective, efficient and smooth running of the service in line with the culture and values of Orwell and the aims of the service.

The Role…
As part of this role, you will:

  • Work alongside the service manager by support the team with information, advice and guidance, to enable them to deliver person centered care and outcomes to our tenants.

  • Work with support workers to ensure accurate and timely completion of daily records, care plans, support guidelines and other records pertinent to the safe care and support of our tenants.

  • Take a lead in working with the team to promote positive working relationships between colleagues, tenants, families, friends and other professionals.

  • Act as a role model, supporting the team to be the best they can be, by working in a creative way to achieve person centered support, positive outcomes and solution focused practice.

  • Support professional development by ensuring that all mandatory training requirements for the team are complete and up to date.

  • Take a lead role in the daily administrative tasks required by the Service Manager i.e. rotas, rota cover, absence recording, finance checks, incident reporting etc.

Person Specification...

  • QCF Level 3 Health and Social Care or willing to work towards

  • Supervisory qualification or commitment to achieve within 18 – 24 months
