Job Description
Leeds Federated is a housing association with around 4,500 properties across Leeds, Wakefield and North Yorkshire. Our mission is to enable the maximum number of people to access and live sustainably in good value, affordable housing.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Fire Protection & Compliance Assistant to join our Asset team, to be part of the delivery of a fire testing and communal compliance service. The main purpose of this role is to ensure that all aspects of communal safety are adhered to, this includes working with tenants to find solutions for storage issues within communal areas.


Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out a weekly sounder test for all communal fire alarms.

  • Carrying out four weekly testing of emergency lighting in communal areas.

  • Testing smoke vents, mains and battery smoke alarms where required.

  • Portable Appliance Testing of the Associations stock.

  • Dealing with customers face to face and advising them on communal area safety and compliance.
  • Comply with all communicated policies, procedures, and codes of practice, manuals, and initiatives.

  • Information relating to tenants, clients and other customers maintained confidentially.

  • Organised, reliable and able to keep to a timed schedule

  • Self-motivated and a clear communicator who can liaise effectively at all levels.

  • Have experience of Health & Safety at work

  • Have knowledge of Fire Safety

  • Have a flexible and innovative approach

This role is 37.50 hours per week. You will be based at Cragside Close Hub, Leeds LS5 3QB with access to our main office at The Tannery, Leeds LS3 1HS.
