We're looking for a new Executive Director of Finance to be part of this journey.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the Executive Director of Finance will play a key role in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the organisation, supporting a high-performance culture, strategic growth and contributing to the overall mission of providing high-quality housing for customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for the teams and delivery plans for Financial Management, Strategic Planning and Development, Treasury and Investment Management, Risk and Assurance, Procurement and Performance and Business Insight.

Some key responsibilities include:

  • Financial Strategy: Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with LHP's mission. Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.

  • Treasury Management: Lead treasury operations, manage funding strategies, and maintain relationships with lenders and investors.

  • Risk and Assurance: Implement risk management frameworks, oversee internal audits, and ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to LHP's strategic planning, conduct financial due diligence for new opportunities, and support cross-departmental initiatives.

  • Performance Management: Develop KPIs, provide business insights, and report on financial and operational performance.

  • Leadership: Guide the Finance directorate, fostering a high-performance culture and promoting professional development.

  • Governance: Lead reporting to the Audit & Risk Committee and provide assurance to the Board and regulators.Play a key role in the executive team, contributing to executive decision-making, with collective responsibility to support and challenge other executive colleagues.


LHP is looking to appoint an executive leader who has the following attributes:

  • Ability to foster a high-performance, customer-centric culture within the Finance directorate. Provide

  • collective leadership on the Executive team, drive business change initiatives, and represent LHP externally to enhance the organisation’s reputation.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing a range of finance and business assurance services at a strategic level, in a complex customer-facing organisation.

  • Experience of working in a regulated environment.

  • Strong experience of developing finance and risk/business assurance strategy and plans.

  • Substantial experience of being responsible for a risk management/ business assurance framework

  • Experience working closely with Boards and committees.

  • Track record of developing and sustaining effective external partnerships that add value.

  • Leadership skills and the ability to coach, motivate and engage others.

  • Ability to engage effectively with all levels including colleagues, customers and external stakeholders.

  • Open to drawing upon innovation and business intelligence, research and best practice, in advising on options and opportunities.

  • Ability to present data and information in clear and accessible ways to enable effective decision-making and tailoring of customer services.
