Are you an experienced grounds maintenance operative who can work with a number of different teams? Are you someone who takes pride in delivering quality work and providing excellent customer services?

Our Grounds Maintenance team is expanding for our busy sprint and summer period and we have an exciting new opportunity to join the team in Wythenshawe.

We are looking for a talented individual who has the experience and technical knowledge for this busy role and who will be able to work well as part of our extensive property team to deliver the best possible service to our residents.

These roles are fixed term, working until 3rd October 2025.

What you’ll be doing

  • Routine grass cutting and general maintenance of open spaces and communal areas

  • Clearance of gardens in order to return them to a maintainable standard

  • Routine garden maintenance to occupied dwellings such as grass cutting, hedge cutting, basic plant care, pruning and weeding

  • Tree maintenance

  • To operate and carry out basic maintenance to all grounds maintenance machinery and equipment in line with Health & Safety regulations

  • All work we carry out is done with an ambition of “Right First Time” - completing the job fully with quality workmanship and excellent customer service, particularly ensuring that tenants’ belongings are protected and treated with respect.

    What we ask of you

  • Experience of working in grounds maintenance environment;

  • Ability to work as part of a team, motivate and inspire team members and work effectively within a team with others;

  • Experience with all associated plant and machinery, including ride on mowers, hand mowers, hedge cutters, strimmers, blowers etc.;

  • The ability to lift (with assistance) and move hand held plant and machinery with a weight of up to 60kg;

  • Able to use all hand tools, including wheel barrows, rakes, shovels etc.;

  • Able to assist team members with the removal of fly tipped waste, large household goods, bulk waste, soil, rubble etc. and load vans and skips with waste;


The ideal candidate will hold an NVQ Level 2 in Amenity Horticulture or a similar topic and hold a full driving licence.

Due to the nature of the role, a full driving licence is preferable, but not required.
