Riverside have a new opportunity for a Care Assistant, working part time, on a permanent basis. Who you’ll be helping Laurel Court provides a safe environment for people with learning disabilities to live independently in Huddersfield. As the Care Assistant, you will assist in the delivery of quality care services to a high standard in line with Riverside’s policies, procedures and values. Day to day Your usual responsibilities as a Laurel Court Care Assistant will include: • Provide assistance to residents in need of physical personal care ensuring dignity and privacy is upheld. • Recognise distress and identify and assess positive ways to reduce it. • Identify and assess positive ways to reduce stress. • Actively participate in specified care management programmes. • Provide assistance with laundry as well as assist customers with catering skills. You demonstrate an optimistic, flexible and non-judgemental approach and have excellent verbal and written communication skills with individuals from a variety of different backgrounds. You have experience working in a customer focused environment within a residential setting offering personal care to a diverse group of people. You have basic administrative skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook and Excel.
