Role Overview: As an Assurance Manager, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team responsible for strategy and policy development, insurance, and information governance. Your role will involve ensuring SHG remains compliant with all relevant regulations and legislation, while driving forward our strategic functions to reshape services and respond effectively to new challenges.

Key Responsibilities: In this role, you will contribute to the development and implementation of strategies and policies that meet business needs and regulatory requirements. You will work collaboratively to ensure compliance with Consumer Standards and contribute to corporate project teams. Additionally, you will maintain and enhance the insurance service, successfully defending claims. Leading the information governance service will be another key responsibility, embedding a culture of privacy and compliance. Providing expert advice and producing high-quality reports for senior leadership will be essential. Staying abreast of sector developments and devising plans to implement new legislation and best practices will also be part of your duties.

About You: To be successful in this role, you should have strong knowledge of the issues facing social housing providers and local government. Experience in shaping strategic and operational processes with diverse stakeholder views is essential. You should possess inspirational leadership skills, able to motivate and role model SHG’s ASPIRE Values. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to challenge the status quo are crucial. You should be resilient and determined, able to work autonomously and overcome barriers. Understanding political sensitivities and the wider business context is important. Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with experience in writing reports and developing guidance, are required. A flexible working approach, including the ability to attend evening meetings when required, is also necessary.
