Job Description
The role:

We’re seeking a skilled and customer-focused Damp & Mould Surveyor to deliver expert technical support on complex damp, condensation, and mould issues. You’ll play a key role in diagnosing problems, specifying repairs, and ensuring works are completed to a high standard, all while maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations and delivering excellent service.

There is an expectation that you attend the office 5 days a week and are able to travel to sites as required.

Although not an exhaustive list, key responsibilities include:

  • Accurately diagnose and specify damp and mould (D&M) repairs, producing detailed reports and managing remedial works from inspection through to completion.

  • Provide a customer-focused service, liaising with residents, contractors, and internal teams to ensure timely updates, effective communication, and high satisfaction.

  • Oversee contractor delivery of D&M solutions, including raising orders, conducting pre- and post-inspections, and ensuring value for money and compliance with standards.

  • Carry out disrepair surveys, contribute to legal case management, and ensure all works comply with health and safety regulations, CDM, and relevant legislation.

  • Work closely with Coordinators, Asset, and Repairs teams, using IT systems and data to track progress, support decision-making, and contribute to continuous service improvement.

    For this role we are looking for individuals who have:

  • A relevant qualification (HNC, HND, BTEC HND) in a building discipline or equivalent experience and training.
  • Demonstrable experience in reactive maintenance and damp, condensation & mould (DC&M) inspections.
  • Strong knowledge of building regulations, housing legislation, and landlord responsibilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and housing management systems.

    The successful candidate must hold a valid driver’s license and/or the ability to travel independently to visit customers and properties. Access to pool cars subject to availability. A basic DBS check will be obtained upon successful appointment of this role.
