Summary:
We are looking for a Regulatory Support Officer to join our multi-disciplinary team at the Regulator of Social Housing.

The Investigation & Enforcement team is our dedicated resource leading the resolution of the most serious situations where Registered Providers are failing to meet the outcomes and standards required of being a registered social landlord. It also handles financially stressed situations that occur within the sector, and oversees the interventions and use of enforcement powers to deliver resolution and rescue approaches in line with the delivery of our fundamental objectives. As a dedicated team it is able to provide the agile, intensive resourcing that is required in early stages of many cases to focus on getting to the root of the underlying issues, understanding stakeholders’ positions, and ensuring that early actions and interventions focus on stabilising positions while a resolution strategy is identified.

Job Description:
As the Regulatory Support Officer, you will support in the delivery of effective engagement with registered providers, carrying out analysis and engagement to support resolution and recovery plans of registered providers where it has been identified that improvements are needed, and will support in the design of follow-up interventions and engagement.

Your role will include supporting colleagues in considering engagement and casework, including co-ordination, monitoring and be involved in casework.  You will also carry out assessments and reviews of key assurance and evidence for specified casework and will engage with registered providers, developing and managing relationships.

Responsibilities:
As the successful candidate, you will have a sound understanding of regulator’s role and have relevant experience in a housing, governance, risk management or other comparable regulatory environment.  You will have strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, as well as good analytical evaluation skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgement and reach conclusions.

You will be able to work across team boundaries in a collaborative and inclusive way and will have a strong organisation skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines.

Location
We operate a hybrid model of working with a mix of office and home working.

This role can be based out of any of RSH’s core offices in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and Bristol. We offer a range of flexible working arrangements and staff can benefit from working from home for part of their hours. Most roles involve some travel within England between our offices, with some roles also involving onsite visits to social housing providers.

Interviews
Interviews are expected to take place w/c 11th November and will be held via Microsoft Teams.

The salary for this role is a spot salary within the given range, which will normally be the minimum of the range. There is no incremental progression through a pay scale. Annual salary reviews are determined by the government pay award. In addition, when the probation period is successfully completed, a performance related bonus may be awarded, based on appraisal ratings at the end of the qualifying appraisal year.
