Diverse speakers at National Housing Federation conferences and events

 

The National Housing Federation delivers sector conferences on a range of topics showcasing the best the sector has to offer. We are always researching and looking for new speakers that are representative of varying nationalities, sexualities, gender identities, religious affiliations, disability and economic status as well as people representing other diverse characteristics. Right now we are paying specific attention to improving the Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic representation right across our events portfolio.

Targets on gender and ethnicity, aimed at increasing the diversity of our event speakers, include:

• 50% of our event speakers will be female.
• We will have no all-male panels at our conferences and events.
• 20% of our speakers will be from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic groups.

 

We are currently looking for speakers for these conferences:

National Smaller Housing Associations’ conference - 4 December 2024

Our well established conference for smaller housing associations, and we are looking for potential speakers from housing associations with less than 2000 homes:

• Chief executives.
• Chairs.

We are looking for potential board, committee and chair speakers on these topics:

• Alternative funding options or partnerships to deliver more homes.
• How do you ensure your board skills reflect your business.
• Cyber risks, have you experienced a security breach? Sharing the experience and learnings.
• When a home cannot be brought up to decent standards what do you do? Examples of demolition and build back.
• Understanding the benefits of data triangulation for board members.
• How can boards push forward on equality, diversity and inclusion to truly represent the communities they work in?

Customer Experience and Resident Engagement Conference – 25 February 2025

After launching the Customer Experience and Resident Engagement Conference successfully earlier this year, we have decided to run it in 2025. This decision is prompted by the changes, challenges, and progress the sector has made in these areas.

We are seeking resident speakers and board members from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic Groups. We are also looking for Heads, Managers, Officers or Directors as potential speakers in these areas:

• Customer experience
• Service
• Customer/Resident engagement
• Head of communications or communications manager
• EDI Lead
• Chief Executives
